Sunrise

I've never lived somewhere that you could watch the sun rise and set like it does here.  The colors are amazing!  To wake up and look out my kitchen widow is awesome!  It helps that there isn't many trees around.

Did I mention the sunsets?

How Does Your Garden Grow...

This weekend, Jesse and I got some stuff done.  The main thing was getting the garden fenced in before he starts working long hours.  We have chickens that like to eat green stuff, so we had to make sure they couldn't get to our veggies.  We started by digging post holes.

As you can see, Jesse did the digging.  He is much better at it.  Once we had that done, we found some bois d'arc post to make the corners.  I would show you a picture, but I guess I missed that.  So, we then tilled up the ground.

Did I mention our really awesome garden entrance?

I know, right?  The garden area ended up looking really cool.

I'm really excited to get all the plants in the ground!

Rag Chair

I have noticed on Pinterest, that there has been numerous pins on these chairs.  I just love it!  So, I headed down to my local antique store to find me a chair.  Brian at Eagerly Sought hooked me up! The seat in the chair was nasty and broke.  Perfect for my little DIY project!

Isn't it gorgeous?!  The water tub will be a project for later in the Spring.  So, I decided on what fabric to use.  I like to buy fabric here and there, and use them eventually.  And, when I say eventually, I mean 4 years later.  That's how I roll.  So, you take your fabric, and tear it into strips.  I would totally show you a picture, but I forgot to take any!  Do not tear them too wide.  Now, I choose two different fabrics.  This is a personal thing.  No rules here.  Once you have all of them ripped, its time to start tying.

Just wrap around the seat area, and tie in a nice tight knot.  Keep going until all of the seat is covered.  It will look like this.

Now you start tying the other direction.  Now, this can be tricky.  Not hard, just tricky.  You weave these through the first.  I kept repeating over-under in my head!  It will start to look something like here.

I sat in my kitchen and did this while I was cooking supper.  Took me about an hour to finish.  Someone kept jumping up on the chair when I would go to check supper!

Meet Booger.  He thinks its comfortable.  I absolutely loved how the chair turned out!  My husband even sat in the chair to see if it would break!  It held up!  Here is the finished product.

Hello precious.

Meet the Flock

So, our story starts with us..

Handsome fellow isn't he?  I thought so.  We decided to get hitched back in 2000.  Three years later, this little guy came along.

Parker
He is a smart one.  Good kid.  As a baby, he only cried for food.  Still does.  Since the first one was so easy, why not have one more??

Jack
He is my tough kid.  So many things going on in that little head.  Rotten ornery thoughts.  I love seeing what he will think of next.  He cried only when....well, all the time.  We then thought that these two blessings needed one more.

Isabella
Where do you start?  Diva.  Princess.  Ruler of the roost.  She was born with a head full of dark brown hair.  She had more hair bows before she was born, than most 2 year old!  She loves to dance and sing.

Now that you have meet my flock, I hope you come back.  You never know what will happen next around here.
